A look Back at 2013-2014 School Year.

WOW! The school Year is over!

This was the boy child's first year in school. He has matured, triumphed and had a wonderful Foundation Stage 2  school year! (He is in a British curriculum school, this is equivalent to Pre-K4.) We are gearing up for Year 1 (equivalent to Kindergarten) BUT SUMMER IS FIRST!!!!! I hope to be better about posting over the summer.  I will blog about specific events that have taken place in addition to this recap. Please enjoy!

Arabian Sea Adventure -Part 1

The Mayans said that the world was ending. So what a wonderful day it was to be out in the sea if it was gonna be our last day on earth! (LOL) We were invited to a private birthday party on the "Prince of the Sea" that lasted all day! This was a wonderful experience. This might have been the best experience we have had as a family since being in the U.A.E. There was unlimited food, drinks, and fun. The best part was watching the sunset on the Arabian Sea. If today was the end of the world, then we had the perfect ending.

Lions, Tigers, and Bears.... Oh My!!!

"Oh my!" is right!  We spent the night at Emirates Park Resorts and Zoo just on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi! The purpose of this trip was, that Tai had to report the the main campus for work. "Papa Bear" found this wonderful hotel for us to stay at (The price is pocketbook friendly!!!) because he felt that it would be great fun for "Baby Bear" and I while he was at boring work.

We checked in rather late, at 11pm and walked to our rooms and went straight to bed. Throughout the night I heard these weird noises!!!! To our amazement in the morning we found out who the weird noisy neighbors were. GIRAFFES!!!! GOATS!!!! ZEBRAS!!!! and IMPALAS!!!!! They were right outside our door to the hotel room!!! HOW COOL IS THAT????? So being the "Momma Bear" that I am, I woke the kid up out of perfect sleep and took him the to the front door to take pictures! After Kaleb's PJ photo shoot we got dressed and walked a total of 20 steps to the zoo entrance. (Later I found the backdoor that we  could have taken from our room!)

I was surprised at the size of the zoo, and the plan for additions . I thought it was going to be just a petting zoo with a few cool animals. I was wrong and was glad to be wrong. We bottle fed baby goats and grass fed camels, cows, a wombat,  donkey, and too many others to think of. Not only did we feed animals, we view an array or other cool species. Yes we got to see Lions, Tigers and Bears!!! OH MY!!!!

It was an awesome experience to spend the night at the zoo! I think this will be one childhood memory that will last for a life time.

Golf Club - Christmas Event

Al Hamra Golf Club is one of the hang out for the residents in Al Hamra Village  where we live.  The golf club was kind enough to put on a Christmas event for the kids in the neighborhood.  It was a wonderful evening of children running, playing (I was beginning to wonder if kids lived here, because I never saw them.), music, dancing (Tai has a video of me dancing with a neighbor, i'll post it later) face painting, bounce house, parents meeting new friends and throwing down the spiced red wine and food. (Of course there were food and drink options for the kids.)

Kaleb was happy to see Santa again. This time he was very confident, so much so he followed him to get several helpings of cookies that Santa was passing out. I mean, Kaleb shook him down.... I think he got like 5 cookies!!! (Yeah! That's my kid... I mean that is Not my kid!!  LOL!)  All in all we meet two wonderful families and learned about a playgroup that is hosted twice a week at the golf club. (Playgroup is a big deal because Kaleb needs friends.)

As the evening came to a close, Kaleb was wore out and asking to go home!!! (Point for Mom and Dad!) But, what he asked as we were leaving the golf club would make my dad (Charles) proud and stick his chest out a mile high..."Daddy, when am I going to come and hit the ball with the stick!!!?????" In American Standard English (for our British friends); When am I going to play golf?

Hold on to your hats, that ADVENTURE will start in January 2013!!!!! :)
