December 2, 2012- UAE National Day

The United Arab Emirates turns 41!

The 2nd day of December is full of celebration, community, and pride very much like at home in the USA for the 4th of July!  Everywhere you look you see flags, lights, and posters of the Rulers of each Emirate.

On the morning of National Day, I received my Text from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ras-Al-Khaimah and Tai didn't. At the time he was a little jealous. Of course I rubbed it in a little,  my phone number was originally his number. As the day went on he received his text, except it was in Arabic!! LOL.

That evening we meet up with our new family friends that are from London. They have two wonderfully sweet little guys. We went to the town center to watch the celebrations.  Tai has figured out that he is originally from RAK (Ras-Al-Khaimah). He thought had several sightings of Nick Williams (his dad!), but sources later confirmed the Nick Williams is in fact in San Antonio.

We enjoyed the decorated cars, the kids spraying silly string, tribal dances and songs, fireworks, and to see the community stop and pray during Call to Prayer.

Here a a few pics of out National Day celebration, we hope you enjoy them.

I Love my scarf Daddy!

Ohhhhhhh FIREWORKS!!!
